The Volunteer’s Role

Your volunteer work will greatly benefit the MultiCare Youth Foundation (MYF) by strengthening its communications systems to improve the visibility of its programs.

The MYF is looking for a volunteer like you to assist with the marketing and communication aspects of the Foundation including social media management.

As a volunteer, you will support the execution of several marketing and communications-related activities including social media management, website management, public relations and content creation; as well as the development of branding guidelines and materials

The MYF is doing exciting work to reach inner-city youth but this work needs to be captured and promoted. You will also be expected to identify strengths, opportunities and gaps to inform the improvement of the communication and marketing processes of the foundation.


As a volunteer, you will:

  • Assist in the development amp; implementation of a Communications amp; Marketing Plan
  • Maintain an active social media presence and post content on the website.
  • Educate staff on innovative communication strategies amp; techniques
  • Support the team with general public relations activities including the completion of the annual report.


Essential Requirements:

  • Studies in Communications, marketing or relevant fields.


Essential Background:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the use of simple and clear language
  • Excellent organizational, story-writing and report-writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork working skills with the ability to work with inner-city youths

Cuso International will deliver the Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE) project, with a contribution from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) over seven years (2020-2027). SHARE aims to improve the economic and/or social well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly women and girls, in developing countries, with a view to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to increasing engagement of Canadians in international development and key global issues, this project will aim to increase the performance of country partners to deliver more inclusive, innovative and environmentally sustainable development initiatives that advance gender equality, in support of the action areas of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.


Partner - The MultiCare Youth Foundation

The partnership intends to achieve mutual objectives of empowering and improving the livelihoods of poorer communities and individuals. By strengthening the capacity of the Multi Care Youth Foundation, and by supporting in promoting its programs, it is hoped that this will provide greater opportunity for MYF to access resources to improve the socio-economic opportunities of the targeted groups and communities they directly support.

Cuso International terms and conditions allow you to lead a modest and healthy lifestyle while being effective in your placement.
