Job Description

Location: Kingston, Jamaica

Start Date: May 2023

Placement Length: 12 Months

Language Requirements: English Level 5-Fluent

The Volunteer’s Role
As a volunteer, you will provide support with the tasks and activities related to the Mamp;E plan and its stated objectives. You will work with the Program Manager as well as the core and project teams. You will be trained in the use of the online Mamp;E portal, and become intimate with its use to support the timely collection and reporting of program and project data. This will include frequent on-site visits to project/program activities for verification exercises; ensuring the timely mounting of data on the Mamp;E online portal; assisting with the quality control of data on the site and frequent reporting of actual deliverables against pre-determined indicators and targets.


As a volunteer, you will:

  • Assist in the development amp; implementation of a Communications amp; Marketing Plan
  • Maintain an active social media presence and post content on the website.
  • Educate staff on innovative communication strategies amp; techniques
  • Support the team with general public relations activities including the completion of the annual report.


Essential Requirements:

  • Studies in Business Administration, Communications, Development Studies or relevant fields.


Essential Background:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the use of simple and clear language
  • Experience working with monitoring and evaluation frameworks
  • Excellent organizational, and report-writing skills
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills

Cuso International will deliver the Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE) project, with a contribution from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) over seven years (2020-2027). SHARE aims to improve the economic and/or social well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly women and girls, in developing countries, with a view to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to increasing engagement of Canadians in international development and key global issues, this project will aim to increase the performance of country partners to deliver more inclusive, innovative and environmentally sustainable development initiatives that advance gender equality, in support of the action areas of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.


Partner - The MultiCare Youth Foundation

The partnership intends to achieve the mutual objectives of empowering and improving the livelihoods of poorer communities and individuals. By strengthening the capacity of the Multi-Care Youth Foundation, and by supporting in promoting its programs, it is hoped that this will provide a greater opportunity for MYF to access resources to improve the socio-economic opportunities of the targeted groups and communities they directly support.

Terms and Conditions

Cuso International terms and conditions allow you to lead a modest and healthy lifestyle while being effective in your placement. This support package will cover basic living expenses for one volunteer and is not intended to cover home-based expenses (ex. loans, support payments, etc.) or luxury items such as imported items in placement or international personal travel.
