Job Description

Location: Jamaica (any part) - 100% remote work-from-home position - (You must permanently live amp; have the right to work in Jamaica to apply for this position.)

Pay Rate: $8 (USD) per hour (Paid monthly via PayPal)

Contract: 12-month contract with an extension highly likely. Self-employed contractor. Responsible for own taxes. No benefits.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (Flexible)

The Role:

Here at Twinkl we are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join the entrepreneurial teams which comprise Twinkl’s core customer segments. You will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development and growth of our Caribbean community.

You'll start as a solo marketeer, connecting with customers directly via a variety of different communication channels to highlight and demonstrate the benefits of Twinkl's products and teaching resources. You'll be moving into this position as a team of one with the support of many, so you’ll need to take a rapid iterative approach, employing different marketing and business development techniques to get the message out to customers. You'll be the person responsible for defining, building and managing the right team to support user growth within the Caribbean. You will be commercially minded and comfortable in making decisions on where to pursue opportunities. You will be responsible for reporting monthly and quarterly in line with business expectations.

This is a very varied role that involves both proactive strategic planning and reactive work as you pivot and respond to the demands of your growing market.

A typical week could involve any of the following:

  • Showing tenacity and drive, going above and beyond to reach new customers / educators and build your market;
  • Business management and strategy to put plans in place to help achieve our growth targets for the Caribbean market. Work with Managers from different countries across the business to understand what’s working and how we can improve our service for ‘Those who teach’;
  • Researching and developing innovative concepts within the education market, including teaching resources for educators and children in the Caribbean;
  • Be connected with the Caribbean’s education communities, to make sure we understand what they need, and when they need it, so we can deliver accordingly;
  • Creating the newsletter for the Caribbean teaching / parent audience, posting engaging content across different social media channels.
  • Identifying potential partnership / influencer opportunities.


Key Performance Indicators:

  • Build a thriving social media community for educators, and hit specific growth and engagement targets for that community each month.
  • Increase revenue and hit specific growth targets.
  • Increase new customers and hit specific growth targets.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will have the following skillset:

  • Excellent / Fluent written and verbal English language skills;
  • Experience and knowledge of the education system in Jamaica amp; knowledge of the Core Curriculum from Jamaica Ministry of Education and Youth;
  • At least 3 years of recent experience teaching in a primary school classroom setting (grades 1-6) in Jamaica
  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset and a propensity for action and strong work ethics;
  • A strong marketeer who can understand educators’ needs, metric data amp; social media strategies;
  • Sound decision-making skills and diligence when seizing new opportunities;
  • Commercially astute and a stra
